Because our event was at a private property, we couldn't accommodate parking for our guests. I was particularly worried about ensuring the shuttles were reliable & ready for our guests. As founder and principal designer of Blue Sapphire Events, I personally work with you from start to finish. As a small, boutique firm I lead the planning and management for all of my clients weddings. I take on a maximum of fifteen couples per year and focus on a quality over quantity approach to planning your special day.
The planning process can be lonely - friends and family may get sick of hearing about the details of your wedding plan, but I never will. I've designed my work schedule around the lifestyles of busy couples like you, holding office hours outside of the traditional 9-5 to make scheduling easier for you. I personally respond to all emails - no admins or autoresponders here.
As my client, you'll not only have access to me but to all my resources and planning guides as well, plus a fully vetted vendor list customized to your personal tastes. I don’t limit my hours on your wedding day - myself and my team of assistants will be on-site from start to finish to make sure everything goes off without a hitch.

A wedding planner is an investment in you and your wedding. Most vendors are with you on your day and your day only. We support you for the duration of the planning process AND at the wedding - and often even after. You are paying for expertise to manage a complex team of vendors with intricate nuances. Our couples want their wedding to be a time to celebrate with each other and their guests. They want to experience their day calm and present, not distracted and tense. We help them achieve that.
Why do we need a wedding planner?
I believe in a quality over quantity approach. For full service wedding planning and design we take on a maximum of 15 weddings per year. For wedding day management, we take on a maximum of 5 weddings per year and only book this service type starting six months out from the wedding date.
How many weddings do you take per year?
This is an excellent question and the biggest stressor for many couples planning their weddings. Your wedding budget is driven by your overall guest count, the area you are getting married, and your vision. Our clients typically spend between $750-$1,500 per guest. National averages provided by websites like The Knot and WeddingWire are not a good indicator of wedding costs for the Washington, D.C. area which is a high cost of living area. Every wedding is unique and pricing is truly dependent on a variety of factors. A keystone of our business is realistic budget planning based on the Washington, D.C. market.

Before launching Blue Sapphire Events, my journey in events management encompassed various roles, including Catering Sales and Banquet Manager at a prominent DC private club. There, I orchestrated up to 250 events annually and led a large banquet team to ensure flawless execution. Subsequently, I ventured into political conferences, fundraising galas, and corporate events, overseeing budgets ranging from $100,000 to over $1 million. As the former leader of US Events Strategy for an internationally based tech start-up, I orchestrated events worldwide, showcasing my versatility and proficiency in event planning. While my passion lies in wedding planning, my extensive background has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of event logistics and execution, ensuring every celebration is impeccably crafted from start to finish.
