Jenni & Kevin’s Top of the Town Wedding was so inspiring during the chaos that was the COVID-19 pandemic! Originally, they were supposed to be married on June 20, 2020. Due to COVID-19, the decision was made to move their date to October 31, 2020 and to downsize their wedding for everyone’s health and safety. Unfortunately, Kevin is originally from the UK so his family and friends were unable to fly into the US for the celebration. Luckily, we do live in a time where technology allows us to connect with people all over the world. Wedfuly, a virtual wedding platform, helped us orchestrate the international Zoom video call. Guests from all over the world were able to tune in and see Jenni & Kevin say “I do”. We were also able to have Kevin’s groomsmen and father give a speech via the platform. It wasn’t quite the same as in person, but it was close, and it was so special to plan!
Throughout the planning process, we focused on a UK meets the US theme. Designs by Allison Rene created a custom logo for the couple with the respective flags that we had printed on menus and programs to add a little flair. The catering menu also featured fish and chips and texas barbeque to pay homage to the couple’s hometown cuisine. Leah Letters created personalized signage and table numbers that brought the whole look together!
Jenni wanted gorgeous flowers and I knew just who to call. Petalos DC did an amazing job with the floral designs and the arch they created for the ceremony was the most picture perfect backdrop.
Duck Donuts provided the most delicious donuts and cheesecake from Whole Foods helped to sweeten the evening.
Robert Aveau perfectly captured all of the details and joy. When I opened this album, all of the memories came back and I could not get over how perfect every image was!
The biggest surprise was the cardboard cut-outs of guests that the bridal party surprised Kevin and Jenni with! They filled the seats with these “guests” and it was such a thoughtful gesture!
I absolutely loved working with these two because they were so kind and thoughtful throughout the whole process and didn’t let anything ruin their big day; even a pandemic!
