I met Nick and Julia a few months ago after a referral from their wedding photographer Megan Rei. They were looking for someone to help organize the details of their wedding at the Carlyle House in Old Town, Alexandria, VA. The Carlyle House is a historic mansion in Old Town with expansive gardens in the back. It is the perfect place for a romantic ceremony.
I absolutely love historic homes and buildings and the Carlyle House does not disappoint with its beautiful exterior and grand presence. Nick and Julia got married in the back gardens centered on a blue door that leads into the back of the house. It was such a charming spot.
One of the biggest areas I helped Nick and Julia, was writing a ceremony that was uniquely theirs. They wanted something very personal. I have seen quite a few ceremonies in my day, so I helped them put together a beautiful ceremony that reflected their unique personalities, touching love story, and incorporated some of their dearest friends and family members.
Their photographer was Megan Rei who took some of the most breath-taking photos I have ever seen! I love the emotions she has captured within these images. Nick and Julia will truly treasure these images forever. After the ceremony, Nick and Julia headed off to Old Town Alexandria for a photo shoot. Along the way they stopped for tacos (ummm, gotta love that!) and then hit up a bunch of gorgeous photo locations!
After their photo shoot, They headed to the Columbia Firehouse for a wedding reception filled with love, laughter, and happily ever after. I apologize for the slogan but it just fits this couple so well! I loved that they wanted to stay true to themselves and have the wedding that THEY wanted. Everything about it was so perfect! I am so honored I got to be a part of their special day and I wish them a lifetime of happiness!
